Art Faculty - Sonya Baysinger

Sonya Baysinger is an artist based in West Chicago, Illinois where she owns a studio.

After receiving a Master of Arts Degree from Washington State University and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Southern Illinois University- Carbondale, Sonya began her teaching career.

Presently, she is an Art Instructor at Columbia College of Art and Design in Chicago, Illinois, and McHenry County College, where she teaches jewelry.

Sonya’s jewelry, sculptures and paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally receiving critical acclaim. As a recipient of the Arts Midwest and National Endowment for the Arts Regional Fellowship, she spent several months traveling throughout Greece. Several subsequent awards facilitated travels throughout Europe and China. As often as she can, she travels to Italy to visit her family.
