Greg Alfus made an impact on thousands of students during the 32 years he taught composition and literature at MCC. When Greg passed away in June of 2020, his wife, Carol Alfus, decided to honor his memory by establishing the Greg Alfus Memorial Scholarship.
General Kinematics established a scholarship with the Friends of MCC Foundation. The General Kinematics Welding Scholarship will award $1,000 to one student pursuing their Welding Technician Certificate.
MCC electrician (and alum) Russ Shafer recently rallied his motorcycle club, Iron Seven, to organize the “Ride for Student Success.” The event brought out about 90 people and raised more than $2,100 for student scholarships.
Maridell Markison recently established the Dolores E. Hall Memorial Scholarship in honor of her mother, a lifelong supporter of education, youth, and the arts.
MCC alum Virginia Brightwell wanted to establish a scholarship in honor of her mother, Hazel May St. Clair.
