MCC to Host College Fairs in Early October

McHenry County College (MCC) invites area high school and college students to a College Fair on Thursday, October 5 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The fair will be held in the MCC Gym, 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14, Crystal Lake, IL 60012.

At the event, students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 110 colleges and universities. Students can pre-register through Strive Scan to get a barcode which can be scanned by the attending schools. The colleges can then easily send students more information on their school, and students will receive an email with contact information of the colleges that scanned them. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.

The event is free and open to the public. A list of schools that have attended past college fairs can be found here.

For current college students, MCC will be hosting a Private Illinois Colleges and Universities (PICU) Transfer Fair on October 3 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and a State University Transfer Day on October 5 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Both events will take place in the Commons area in Building B.

“Students will have the chance to connect with college representatives to get information about the transfer process, cost, housing, financial aid, and any other questions they may have,” said Julie Sherwood, coordinator for articulation and transfer at MCC. “You can even have your transcripts reviewed and get advice on courses to take.”

MCC has a robust transfer program and guaranteed admissions agreements with a variety of schools, some of which will also be present at the Transfer Fairs. View more information about transferring at MCC here
