Note-Taking Services

Deciding If You Need a Peer Note-Taker

Before requesting a peer notetaker, consider whether one is necessary for your specific course format:

  • When notes may not be needed: Asynchronous or recorded lectures, courses where the instructor provides full notes, or activity-based classes.

  • When to decide: We recommend attending the first week of class to evaluate the course layout and expectations before confirming your request.

Requesting a Peer Note-Taker

If you determine that a peer notetaker is necessary for your class:

  1. Log in to the ADS Student Portal.
  2. Select your course and confirm that a peer notetaker is needed.
