Martha Malvaez: Building a Future for Her Family

MCC student Martha Malvaez stands in the CATI holding a number 1.

For Martha Malvaez, returning to school was about creating new opportunities—not just for herself, but for her family. Inspired by her five children, she decided it was the right time to pursue continuing education and work toward her career goals.

Martha is currently studying Administrative Office Technologies at MCC and aims to complete her associate’s degree. She is proud of taking the first step by deciding to return to school after time away from the classroom.

One skill Martha has gained that has made a real difference in her studies is computer keyboarding, a foundation that is helping her build confidence and succeed in her classes. MCC’s tutoring resources have also been essential, providing the support she needs to stay on track and make progress toward her degree.

For anyone thinking about starting at MCC, Martha has simple advice: “It’s a good college with a lot of support, financial help, and tutoring. Don’t be afraid to take that first step.”
