Rachel Jimenez, Academic Advisor

Hello! My name is Rachel Jimenez, and I am an Academic Advisor at MCC. I am also an MCC alumni, and I earned my Associate in Science here before continuing on to receive my Bachelor’s in Organizational and Leadership Communication from Illinois State University, and a Master’s in Higher Education from Northern Illinois University.

When I started at MCC, I had no idea what I wanted to do in life. So, I took advantage of the many resources that MCC has to offer, leading me to my goal of working in higher education. My advice to students is to take your time figuring out what you want to do in life. There is no time limit! So, take advantage of all the resources MCC has to offer you. Take fun classes, get involved, attend workshops and information sessions, job shadow at different companies, talk to professionals in different career fields, and most of all, never get discouraged! Myself and my colleagues are all here to assist you!

Three things you should know about me:

  1. I am always looking for new things to learn. Right now, I am learning Spanish.
  2. I love doing any outdoor activity that will allow me to bring my dogs along.
  3. I was homeschooled until I attended college.
