Kathleen Escobar

2023 Education to Empowerment Scholarship Recipient

Kathleen Escobar has been taking ceramics classes at MCC for five years. During that time, the community in the ceramics studio has become a second family to her, inspiring her to teach ceramics at a college level and one day create the same type of supportive space for others. She was inspired to find a career that blends her work and her personal goals by seeing both her parents’ passion for their own business and by her instructors at MCC. Kathleen plans to one day earn a Master of Fine Arts with a focus on ceramics.
