2023 Education to Empowerment Scholarship Recipient

Sophya Anbar was inspired to join the medical field after shadowing healthcare professionals as part of the Medical Academy at Huntley High School. She graduated high school with a silver cord for 100+ hours of volunteer work and will be able to finish her associate degree in just one year as a result of taking online and dual credit classes offered through MCC. Sophya plans on majoring in biology and following the pre-med route when she transfers to a four-year university. Her goal is to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, helping to save lives and make a difference in the world.
