  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography, AAS Program Accreditation

    MCC’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography, AAS program is approved by the Illinois Community College Board and the Higher Learning Commission. MCC is in the process of obtaining accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS), the accrediting organization for Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs. The JRC-DMS is a member of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), the largest programmatic accreditor in the health sciences field. CAAHEP provides oversight and ensures due process for all programs within its accreditation system. The CAAHEP Board of Directors acts on the recommendations of the JRC-DMS, confirming that proper procedures are followed and that accreditation standards are applied consistently and fairly when evaluating applicant educational programs.
