The Friends of McHenry County College (MCC) Foundation recently recognized three retiring members of its Board of Directors— Alexa Malouf, Assistant Vice President at Home State Bank; Ann Schirk, Foundation Administrator at the Foglia Family Foundation; and Dr. Corey Tafoya, Superintendent for Harvard Community Unit School District 50. Each member started in 2019 and completed six total years on the board.
“The Foundation is blessed with a passionate and engaged board of directors,” said Brian DiBona, Executive Director of the Friends of MCC Foundation. “These departing individuals have overseen tremendous growth in the Foundation, with every event and annual giving effort reaching record levels. Because of this growth, we’ve been able to award more scholarships to more students than ever before. The Board is our direct connection to the community and the success of our Foundation is tied to the incredible commitment from our directors.”
Foundation board directors are elected for an initial three-year term and can be elected to serve one additional three-year term. After two consecutive terms, directors must leave the board for one year. They are then eligible to return to the board for another two consecutive terms.
The Foundation also recently welcomed a new board member, Elvira Guerrero, Vice President and Trust Office at Home State Bank.
