MCC Ensembles to Perform This Week as Part of Concert Series

Several McHenry County College (MCC) musicians are set to perform in the next week as part of the 2023-24 MCC Concert Series.

The MCC Jazz Concert will be held Wednesday, November 29 at 7 p.m. in the College’s Luecht Auditorium. The show opens with the New Orleans Jazz Band directed by David DCamp and closes with the MCC Jazz Ensemble led by Michael Bazan.

On Thursday, November 30 at 7 p.m., a variety of MCC student ensembles take the stage for their fall concerts. The show opens with the MCC Guitar ensemble led by instructor Pat Gaughan, then continues with the MCC String Orchestra conducted by Leah Hagel-Kahmann. The concert closes with a performance by the MCC Concert Choir conducted by Christopher Jackson.

On Sunday, December 3 at 7 p.m., a variety of MCC students will showcase their talents during their fall recital.  

The concerts are free to attend and open to the public. All will take place in the College’s Luecht Auditorium, 8900 US Hwy 14 in Crystal Lake.

The MCC Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz, and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area, along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC chorus, concert band, and jazz ensemble.
