MCC to Offer On-Site Archaeology Field School This Summer

Unearth the secrets of archaeology in McHenry County College’s Archaeology Field School this summer. The course runs June 3–14, Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

In the two-week program, students will gain real-world experience working on an experimental archaeological site created on MCC’s campus. Throughout the course, students will receive hands-on training in archaeological survey, excavation, mapping, laboratory processing, and CRM form processing. The program provides training critical to those interested in pursuing a career in archaeology.

Upon completion, students will earn three academic credits transferrable to four-year universities. There are no additional costs beyond course tuition, fees, and personal food and transportation needs. The course is open to all students.

Interested participants can register here. The registration deadline is May 12.
