Jessi Hyde
MCC Store Student Worker

If you’ve visited the MCC Store recently, one of the smiling faces you might see behind the counter is Jessi Hyde, one of MCC’s helpful student workers.
Hyde, who recently completed her Business Management AAS at MCC, is back for her fourth year to complete her Associate in Arts and to begin her Animation Certificate.
“I would love to make video games,” Hyde said of her career goals. “Specifically, I would like to be a game designer—but for now I'm focusing on the animation and art side of things.”
Hyde originally chose to attend MCC because of its location and affordability.
“My parents never went to college and I'm the oldest of my siblings, so a four-year college seemed very intimidating,” she said. “I could not be happier with my decision to attend MCC.”
Hyde recommends MCC to prospective students because of the personalized experience the College provides.
“MCC is much more caring than bigger schools because of its size, but it’s not so small that there aren't opportunities,” she said. “There are so many opportunities at MCC, such as clubs, supportive staff, and much more.”
One of Hyde’s favorite things she has done at MCC is participating in the Mentorship Program.
“Carol Gerber (an instructor in business management and marketing) was my mentor, and it really made my college experience special,” she said. “It was especially nice to have a mentor to guide me since I couldn't ask my parents for advice about college.”
Hyde started working at the MCC Store in August 2024 and is enjoying the experience.
“I love my job and the people I work with,” she said. “The team is so supportive and kind. The only downside is that I can't stop buying the cute things at the store!”
