Andrew Burkey

Congratulations to Andrew Burkey, MCC's March 2023 Student-Athlete of the Month. The Huntley High School graduate is a returning sophomore for the Scots men's tennis team and has been named team captain this season.

"Andrew has grown into a valuable leader for the men's squad. He helps run drills for his teammates and teaches techniques to help them improve. He is a huge advocate for our program, actively recruiting high school players from his alma mater for our men's and women's tennis teams," compliments Head Coach Jim Stockwell.

Andrew earned ISCC All-Conference All-Academic honors and is on track to graduate as NJCAA Academic All-American. He has recently been accepted as a transfer student to the University of Illinois in Champaign this coming fall to study Journalism and Media.

"We are proud of all Andrew has accomplished here at MCC and the manner he represents our tennis program and department. We are happy to be a part of his bright future," adds Director of Athletics Karen Wiley.
