Kaitlyn Ignarski

2022 Education to Empowerment Scholarship Recipient

Kaitlyn Ignarski is studying to become a labor and delivery nurse. Her ultimate goal is to become a memorable nurse for her patients—a name that someone keeps in their phone, the one who saved a life, or simply treated them with respect during a difficult time. She currently volunteers on the labor and delivery floor at Advocate Sherman Hospital, where she has been able to participate in births, stock delivery and recovery rooms, and hold and comfort special care unit babies during their stay. In addition to her volunteer work, she works as a nanny and on a local farm, tending to the greenhouse, serving as a guide in sunflower and strawberry fields, and cashiering.
