Education to Empowerment
Education to Empowerment is an exciting scholarship program presented by the Friends of MCC Foundation. The mission of Education to Empowerment is to empower students to reach their fullest potential and achieve economic independence through education, mentoring, and financial support. This unique and innovative program provides financial support and ongoing mentorship to MCC students completing their final year at MCC and continuing to a four-year institution to pursue an advanced degree. To date, the program has funded $820,000 in financial support and mentorship to 87 MCC students. Education to Empowerment holds at least four events per year. Your sponsorship will support Education to Empowerment throughout the entire 2026 calendar year.

President's Dinner
McHenry County College and the Friends of MCC Foundation will host the President’s Dinner on Friday, October 30, 2026. This event will be a wonderful celebration of higher education in McHenry County. We are seeking sponsors of all levels for this important event.

MCC Summer Block Party
The MCC Alumni Association provides alumni with opportunities to connect, interact, and strengthen ties, ensuring the MCC experience lasts a lifetime. The Friends of MCC Foundation Golf Invitational takes place each June. This event is one of McHenry County College's premier opportunities to interface with our community. People In Need Forum
The People in Need (PIN) Forum is held each year on the last Saturday in January at McHenry County College. Over 1,000 community members attend to learn about the valuable resources in McHenry County. Exhibitors showcase essential community resources available to help those in need and present workshops to address topics such as immigration, senior issues, caregiver resources, LGBTQ+, substance abuse and addictions, and homelessness.

2025 FMCCF Events
In 2025, the Friends of MCC Foundation hosted several events supporting student success and community well-being. The People in Need Forum offered vital resources and workshops, while the 38th Annual Golf Invitational raised $120,000. The Community Block Party attracted over 450 attendees, raising funds for the Student Success Fund. The Education to Empowerment (E2E) program introduced new scholarship recipients at its Summer Garden Party and raised $20,000 at the Fall Luncheon, with past scholars speaking to over 135 guests. The annual President’s Dinner celebrated institutional milestones and honored key contributors. These events provided sponsors with opportunities to support scholarships and local resources.
