    Gold Team Sweepstakes award for Individual Events and a Silver Team award for Overall Sweepstakes

    Isabella Aguilar won Gold for Persuasive Speaking, Silver for Prose Interpretation, and Bronze for Dramatic Interpretation. Angelina Smith also won Bronze for Prose Interpretation. Also competing were Jake Hatter and Brennen Briske.


    2023 Phi Rho Pi Region IV Competition, March 24, 2023

    sabella Aguilar received a Gold Award for Dramatic Interpretation and two Silver Awards for Persuasive Speaking and Prose Interpretation. Angelina Smith won a Silver Award for Dramatic Interpretation and a Bronze Award for Prose Interpretation. Rodney Katushabe and Jacob Hatter won a Bronze Debate Team Sweepstakes Award. Also competing was Brennen Briske.

    Angelina Smith tied for 1st Place in Dramatic Interpretation and placed 3rd for Prose Interpretation.

    Isabella Aguilar placed 1st in Dramatic Interpretation; Katherine Godfrey-Mikkelson placed 1st in Prose Interpretation; Brennen Briske placed 3rd in Informative Speaking; and Rodney Katushabe placed 6th in Interviewing. Sam Steffan also competed.

    2019 Phi Rho Pi National Forensics Tournament

    Shout out to our Forensics student, team captain Nadia Merida, who won Bronze Awards for Informative Speaking and Prose Interpretation at the 92nd Phi Rho Pi National Forensics Tournament, week of April 9.

    Congratulations to our Director of Forensics Bonnie Gabel, who was given the 2019 Phi Rho Pi Service Award. Also representing MCC were Caden Fosnaugh, Audre Knecht, and Abigayle Ratcliffe and Assistant Coach, Sarah Metivier Schadt

    MCC Forensics won its first team award in six years at the Phi Rho Pi National Forensics Tournament 2016 hosted by Irvine Valley Community College in Costa Mesa, CA.

    Individual awards included

    • Gold: Duo Interpretation - Adrian Nuno and Andrew Nuno
