Sample language for making a bequest in your will or trust

This language may assist you and your attorney as you consider a gift that will meet your financial and personal objectives.

  • Bequest of a specific dollar amount or a percentage of an estate

    I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation (Tax I.D. #23-7418071) currently located at 8900 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake, IL or its successor thereto __________ dollars ($_____), or _____ percent (_____ %) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for the general support of McHenry County College.

    Or

    I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation (Tax I.D. #23-7418071) currently located at 8900 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake, IL or its successor thereto _____ dollars ($_____), or _____ percent (_____ %) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for the purposes as set forth in the _____________________Fund Agreement as executed by me and the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation and which is incorporated herein.
