Thinking about taking the next step toward a degree or career goal? There's still time to register for Fall 2026 classes at McHenry County College (MCC), which begin August 17. The College offers more than 130 degree and certificate programs, along with workforce training, transfer pathways, and continuing education opportunities, giving students flexible and affordable options to reach their goals.
“Taking the first step toward something new can feel intimidating, but it can also be incredibly rewarding,” said Amy Carzoli, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services at MCC. “You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes all it takes is one class or one decision to get started, and we're here to help students build momentum for whatever comes next.”
MCC offers a wide range of resources to help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom, including personalized advising, tutoring and academic support, career services, financial aid assistance, and more.
Beginning this fall, the College is offering a Respiratory Therapy program, creating a new option for students interested in a rewarding healthcare career with strong employment opportunities. Respiratory therapists play an essential role in caring for patients with breathing conditions, working alongside physicians and nurses in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
MCC is also introducing a new Social Work Certificate, preparing students with foundational knowledge and practical skills to support individuals, families, and communities through careers in social services.
For students interested in careers in the skilled trades, MCC’s state-of-the-art Foglia Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation (CATI) provides hands-on training in areas such as automation, robotics, and mechatronics; precision machining; welding and fabrication; HVAC; industrial maintenance; and more. These programs provide the technical skills and real-world experience needed for opportunities in growing fields.
Students who want to continue their education beyond an associate’s degree can also earn bachelor’s or advanced degrees locally through MCC’s University Center in Woodstock. The University Center is now enrolling for Fall 2026 programs from educational partners Aurora University, Northern Illinois University, Roosevelt University, and Southern Illinois University – Carbondale.
