McHenry County College (MCC) is welcoming the community to “Meet MCC,” a drop-in open house and expo where prospective students and community members can explore educational programs, career pathways, and college resources. The event takes place Wednesday, March 18, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the College, 8900 US Highway 14 in Crystal Lake. Attendees should enter through the Liebman Science Center (Building F) and park in lots E and F.
During the event, prospective students and their families can connect with faculty and staff from all academic departments and speak with representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Life, Academic Advising, Access and Disability Services, and more.
“Meet MCC is designed to help students see what’s possible,” said Kristen Mueller, Director of Admissions and Recruitment at MCC. “Whether someone is just starting to explore college, looking to advance their career, or pursuing a new goal or hobby, this event offers a welcoming environment to learn about programs, engage with our team, and take the next step with confidence.”
The event is open to high school students, adult learners, transfer students, and community members interested in professional development or personal enrichment.
Attendees can learn about dozens of academic programs, including transfer degrees, career and technical education, skilled trades, health care programs, and continuing education opportunities. Information about dual credit, short-term workforce training, scholarships, study abroad, athletics, and student support services will also be available.
Visitors can explore new and expanded health science labs, tour learning spaces in the Foglia Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation, and discover opportunities to earn a bachelor’s or advanced degree close to home through partnerships at the University Center at MCC.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees may also complete a free application.
