The McHenry County College (MCC) Concert Band will be performing Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m. at Woodstock High School as part of the 2025-26 MCC Concert Series.
The ensemble, comprised of 60 MCC students and community members, will perform music ranging from the 1700s through today, including “The Chantyman’s March” by John Philip Sousa, “New England Triptych” by William Schuman, “Sheep May Safely Graze” and “Fuga ‘Alla Giga’” by J.S. Bach, and “Burning the Wickerman” by Julie Giroux.
The concert is free to attend and open to the public.
The MCC Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz, and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area, along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC chorus, concert band, and various ensembles. Upcoming performances include the MCC Guitar Ensemble and String Orchestra on December 2 at 7 p.m.; the MCC Chamber Ensembles and MCC Concert Choir on December 4 at 7 p.m.; the MCC Student Recital on December 5 at 7 p.m.; and the MCC Ensembles Holiday Concert on December 6 at 7 p.m. The remaining concerts will be held in the Luecht Auditorium at MCC, 8900 US Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.
