The Friends of MCC Foundation recently received a $500 donation from Women Connecting Women, a women’s business networking group based in Elgin, IL.
The donation will support the Women in Transition scholarship. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in more than 12 credit hours, pursuing a degree or certificate, complete a FAFSA application, and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Past award amounts have ranged from $500 - $2,000.
The Friends of McHenry County College Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports MCC students and is the sole organization authorized to raise private funds on behalf of the College. The Foundation has awarded 722 scholarships totaling $665,000 in 2022 alone. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation operates Education to Empowerment, a scholarship and mentoring program for MCC students; and manages the College’s Alumni Association and related alumni events.
