Strengthening Community Colleges Grant
The Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC4) manufacturing grant, funded by the Department of Labor, aims to serve, create, support, and expand opportunities for individuals in manufacturing pathways to obtain certificates and degrees, helping them develop careers in the manufacturing industry.
Students who are already receiving scholarships, Pell Grants, or other forms of financial aid are still eligible to apply for the SCC4 Grant to receive additional funding to support their degree or certificate program.

How SCC4 Helps MCC Students
The SCC4 Grant strengthens Advanced Manufacturing pathways by helping connect Northern Illinois residents to quality jobs. Participants may receive support to help cover basic costs while completing training or earn wages through work-based learning opportunities.

- Transportation stipend
- Childcare assistance
- Tutoring
- Essential and employability skills training
- Internship placement
