Where did the Employability Skills come from?

Employability Skills have been developed through research, discussion, and partnerships across the college and community. They reflect the Illinois State Board of Education’s (ISBE) recommendations and reporting, heavily relying on the Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Act 2022 materials, the Cross-Sector Essential Employability Competencies produced by ISBE and Career Connected Illinois, and feedback from local employers through MCC’s Office of Workforce Development.

These skills, along with the General Education Goals, represent knowledge and skill competencies students need for their future endeavors.
