MCC Announces Q4 Schedule of Community Enrichment Classes

McHenry County College (MCC) recently released their Q4 Community Enrichment schedule for programs that run October – December 2025.

Whether you’re looking to dive into a new hobby or expand your current skills, MCC offers a dynamic lineup of classes designed to inspire curiosity and support personal growth. The latest schedule includes something for all age groups, with classes ranging from hobby and leisure activities to career-focused programs and youth-centered courses.

Some of this quarter’s personal development classes include French language and American Sign Language; learning Blackjack for fun; horsemanship lessons with Main Stay Therapeutic Farm; culinary classes including pasta making with PastaBar in McHenry and date night classes in the MCC Culinary Lab; and art classes in watercolor, drawing, clay, painting, sewing, and digital photography.

For those dreaming of a trip to France or just wanting to learn a new language, the College is offering “Basic French for Everyday and Travel” Tuesdays, November 4 – December 9. MCC also has courses in American Sign Language (ASL) for those of all experience levels—beginner, ASL 1, and ASL 2—starting in October.

Want more confidence the next time you hit the Blackjack table? Grab some friends and attend “Learn Blackjack the Fun and Easy Way,” offered multiple dates in October, November, and December.

Those wanting to take up a new creative hobby can choose from a variety of classes in crochet, fused glass, needle felting, and card making. There are also several seasonally themed classes, including needle-felted pumpkins, owls, and polar bears, and a fused glass holiday ornament workshop with several dates available in October, November, and December.

Grab a partner or friend for a series of date night culinary classes for two, including “Let’s Talk Tacos” on October 17, “Flavorful Cajun Dishes” on November 7, “Spain in the Kitchen” on November 21, and “Traditional Indian Flavors” on December 5. Several holiday-themed cookie decorating classes are also available October 14, November 18, and December 9.

Learn essential skills and practice interacting with horses in “Horsemanship Lessons,” offered by Main Stay Therapeutic Farm Mondays, October 6 – November 10. Attendees will learn how to safely approach a horse, build trust, grooming techniques, how to understand body language, and more. No riding is involved.

MCC’s Kids and College Program is also offering a variety of fall programming, including a theatre camp on Wednesdays, September 24 – October 29; science classes including “Mad Science of Halloween” on October 25; Young Makers Camps in the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry Makerspace in October, November, and December; “Electronic Circuits with Micro:bits” on December 13, and more.
