MCC to Host Open House March 19

Curious about everything McHenry County College (MCC) has to offer? Learn more about available career paths, programs, and resources at “Meet MCC” on Wednesday, March 19 from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the College, 8900 US Highway 14 in Crystal Lake.

During this open house showcase, prospective students and their families can chat with faculty and staff from all academic programs and meet with over 100 representatives from across the college including Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Life, Access and Disability Services, and more.  

“We’re here to help students discover what they’re passionate about and learn how to turn that into a career,” said Kristen Mueller, Director of Admissions and Recruitment at MCC. “Meet MCC is a chance to make important face-to-face connections, ask questions, and discover the wide range of programs and resources we have to offer.”

The event is for all kinds of students, including high school, adult, and life-long learners.

“We’ll also have information about some of our newest opportunities, including the ability to earn a bachelor’s or advanced degree close to home with the University Center at MCC,” Mueller said. “Students can also explore the state-of-the-art labs in our new Foglia Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation as they learn about the training we offer in the skilled trades.”

Beyond providing information about degrees and certificates, the event will feature the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry Marker’s Space, virtual reality headsets for career exploration, food samples prepared by MCC Culinary students, and live student performances in art, theatre, music, and more.

Information about high school dual credit, veterans’ services, scholarships, study abroad, and athletics will also be available. Attendees can additionally learn about short-term skills programming, Kids and College, professional and community enrichment programs, English language classes, and more.

The event is open to the public and free to attend. Attendees can also complete a free application.
