IBT Frequently Asked Questions

• Is a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) required?
  No, you are not required to complete the FAFSA to qualify for the IBT funding. However, we highly recommend that you do complete the FAFSA.
• What if I need to drop a class that IBT funding paid for?
  Students dropping a class related to these funds must drop before the college withdraw date or the student may be liable for any tuition covered by this award.
• Does applying for the IBT Grant funding guarantee that I will be approved?
  Applying does not guarantee an award. The IBT Grant has limited funding, and students must meet eligibility criteria.
• Is there an application deadline?
  No, the application will remain open until funding is exhausted or the IBT Grant has ended in March 2026.
• Who is eligible to apply for the IBT Grant funding?
  Current MCC students who are planning to transfer to the University Center at MCC or another other University to earn a bachelor's degree.
