  • How do I log on to myMCC the first time?

    You must change your password the first time you log on to myMCC. At your first attempt to use myMCC, you must:

    1. Visit myMCC at www.mchenry.edu/myMCC.
    2. Enter the username that MCC emailed you.
    3. Enter your initial password (don’t copy and paste it).
    4. Select "Sign in."
    5. Update password according to the instructions. Passwords must be at least eight characters long.
    6. If you are brought to the login screen, your password was successfully updated.
    7. Log in with your username and new password.

    If you can't log on to myMCC, try this!

    • Verify that you are entering your username - not your student ID number
    • If you experience problems creating a new password, try a different browser
    • Verify that the password you created met all the password criteria
    • Refresh your browser
    • Clear the cache in your browser
    • Contact the IT Help Desk at (815) 455-8457 or visit A110 if you have trouble logging on. Or submit a Help Desk Ticket to request IT support.
    • If you have not received a username or password email from MCC, contact Registration at (815) 455-8588.
  • How do I log on to a campus computer?

    The first time you register for credit classes, MCC automatically emails you an MCC username and password you can use to log in to any campus computer.

    • Username: Use the username that MCC emailed you.

    • Password: The first time you logged on to myMCC you changed your password. Use the password that you created.

      Note: Your myMCC password expires after 160 days. Passwords must be at least eight characters long.

  • How do current students and staff connect to the wireless at MCC?

    How Current Students and Staff Connect

    Current students and staff members are able to access a secure network named “MCC-Wireless” using your current MCC user name and password. After you connect, your device will automatically connect again anytime you enter campus as long as you have your device remember the network and have the Wini enabled. Below are general guidelines on how to connect with the most popular device types we see on campus.

    Android

    1. From the app drawer, tap the “Settings” app.
    2. Tap “Wi-Fi.”
    3. Tap the “MCC-Wireless” network.
    4. In the “EAP method” drop down select “PEAP.”
    5. In the “Identity” field type your MCC user name.
    6. In the “Password” field type in your MCC password.
    7. Tap “Connect.”

    Chromebook

    1. Select on the status area on the lower right hand side of the desktop.
    2. Select “No Network.”
    3. Select on the “MCC-Wireless” network.
    4. In the “EAP Method” drop down select “PEAP.”
    5. In the “Server CA certificate” drop down select “Do not Check.”
    6. In the “Identity” field type your MCC user name.
    7. In the "Password" field type your MCC password.
    8. Make sure the “Save identity and password” box is checked.
    9. Select "Connect."

    iOS (iPhone and iPad)

    1. On the home screen tap the “Settings” app.
    2. Tap “Wi-Fi.”
    3. Tap the "MCC-Wireless" network.
    4. Enter your MCC user name and password and tap “Join.”
    5. On the “Certificate” screen tap “Trust.”

    Mac (OS X)

    1. Select on the wireless network status indicator in the Finder bar and select the "MCC-Wireless" network.
    2. Enter your MCC user name and password.
    3. On the “Verify Certificate” page select “Continue.”
    4. You will receive another dialog box that asks for a user name and password to change your Certificate Trust Settings. Type in the user name and password you use to access your computer. If you don’t use a password to access your computer leave the password field blank and Select “Update Settings.”

    Windows 10

    1. Select on the wireless network icon on the right hand side of your taskbar.
    2. Select on the “MCC-Wireless” network. Make sure the “Connect automatically” box is checked and Select “Connect.”
    3. Enter your MCC user name and password and Select “OK.”
    4. On the “Continue connecting” prompt Select “Connect.”

    Windows 7

    1. Select on the wireless network icon on the right hand side of your taskbar.
    2. Select on the “MCC-Wireless” network. Make sure the “Connect automatically” box is checked and Select “Connect.”
    3. Enter your MCC user name and password in the box that appears and Select “OK.”
    4. A prompt will appear stating that “the connection attempt could not be completed”, Select “Connect.”
  • How do visitors connect to the wireless at MCC?

    As a guest or visitor to MCC or the Shah Center, you're able to use the “MCC-Open” wi-fi network. You can register for a wi-fi account for one day. If you need to extend the length of your account, see the help desk in A110, go to the library to request a library card for access to the campus wi-fi for one year, or see the person at the front desk in the Shah Center.

    Below are general guidelines to connect to the network with the most popular device types we see on campus.

    Android

    9. After entering the email address you provided, the password you were provided and accepting the terms of use, tap "log in."

    Chromebook

    1. Select on the status area on the lower right hand side of the desktop.
    2. Select “No Network.”
    3. Select on the “MCC-Open” network.
    4. Select on the "Connect to Wi-Fi network" pop-up.
    5. Select "MCC Guest."
    6. Follow the directions at the top of the form that appears. After you fill in the form, read and accept the terms of use and select "Register."
    7. Your password will be listed on this page. If you would like it emailed or text messaged to you, select the corresponding option.
    8. Select "sign in here."
    9. After entering the email address you provided, the password you were provided, and accepting the terms of use, tap "log in."

    iOS (iPhone and iPad)

    1. On the home screen tap the “Settings” app.
    2. Tap “Wi-Fi.”
    3. Tap the "MCC-Open" network.
    4. Tap "MCC Guest."
    5. Follow the directions at the top of the form that appears. After you fill in the form, read and accept the terms of use and select "Register."
    6. Your password will be sent to your email and texted to you if you’ve provided your cell phone number.
    7. Tap "sign in here."
    8. After entering the email address you provided, the password you were provided and accepting the terms of use, tap "log in."
    9. Depending on your version of iOS, you may need to tap the home button on your phone at the screen that states you are connected.
