MCC Shah Center Offers State-Mandated Sexual Harassment Training for Employers

By December 31, 2020, every employer in the State of Illinois is required to provide sexual harassment prevention training that complies with Section 2-109 of the Illinois Human Rights Act ("IHRA").

To help local employers meet this requirement, the McHenry County College Workforce Training Program is offering three training sessions of Creating a Respectful Work Environment: Sexual Harassment Prevention Workshop. The course will be offered Friday, November 13 from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Course Code: NTE S01 001) and again from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. (Course Code: NTE S01 002) as well as Tuesday, November 17 from 10:30 a.m. – Noon (Course Code: NTE S01 003).

Taught in a remote format, the 90-minute interactive training session includes an overview of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment; review of Illinois laws, legal protection, and policy; types of discrimination; examples of conduct that constitutes unlawful sexual harassment; roles and responsibility; and the benefits of a respectful work environment.

The course costs $69 per person and includes a certificate of completion. Registered participants will receive the course link via email at least 24 hours prior to class.
