Shop Math and Basic Print Reading Classes Offered Through MCC Shah Center


The McHenry County College (MCC) Shah Center is offering valuable foundation skills training for employees in manufacturing and industry. Upcoming classes include Shop Math and Basic Print Reading.  

Shop Math is a basic math course that emphasizes math skills required for use on the manufacturing floor. The course will review and introduce skills that apply to solving workplace problems, and is designed for individuals wishing to review or enhance their basic math skills. Class takes place from 8 a.m. to Noon on July 21 and 23. Cost is $259. Use Course Code # NTE S12 001 to register. 

The Basic Print Reading class covers dimensioning, tolerances, lines, and drawing views. Individual class exercises provide actual practice interpreting in-house drawings. Basic shop math is recommended. This class is ideal for inspectors, maintenance, and shop floor personnel. Class takes place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on August 11. Cost is $209. Use Course Code # NTE S61 001 when registering.

These courses will be delivered in a synchronous online format via Zoom. Once registered, participants will receive an email invitation with a secure link and password.
