Employability Skills Training Offered Through MCC Shah Center

The McHenry County College (MCC) Shah Center is offering a six-part series, Workplace Essentials and Employability Skills, from 2–4 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 7 through August 11.

During times of high unemployment, employers are able to choose from a wider applicant pool, which makes finding a job more challenging for jobseekers. This series focuses on people skills that are transferrable across all job sectors and can make an applicant more employable. These two-hour sessions provide job seekers, newly employed workers, and even seasoned employees with the skills necessary for workplace success. Weekly topics include: Active Listening, Time Management, Assertiveness, Accountability, Managing Conflict with Peers, and Professionalism at Work.

The series, led by workforce training instructor Jennifer Rainey, will be presented in a synchronous online format. Participants will receive a secure Zoom link in advance of the class.

Participants can register for individual courses for $69 or receive a discounted rate of $369 if registering for the entire series. Use series course code NTL C19 001 to register. For individual course information, view pages 4-5 in the online Catalyst catalog at
