MCC Shah Center to Offer Online Workforce Solutions


As people struggle with work/life balance, e-Learning allows them to learn from work, home or on the road. Some benefits of online programs are they are convenient, relevant, immediate, self-directed and flexible, with unlimited access 24/7.

                 McHenry County College's Workforce, Community and Business Programs has partnered with the Learning Resources Network (LERN), the world’s largest association in continuing education and lifelong learning to offer a diverse selection of online course topics, including Online Business Certificates.

                 Starting March 4 through April 26, participants can access the “Certificate in Customer Service” series. This class aims to help professionals improve their customer service skills, improve productivity, and increase their organization’s success.  The course units include: Keys to Customer Service and Extraordinary Customer Service. The average time for course completion is 32 hours.  Cost is $245. Register using course code: NTL S73 002.

                 “The Basics of Bookkeeping” is available online from March 4-29.  This course is beneficial for anyone in charge of keeping track of day-to-day financial transactions of a business, an organization or even as an entrepreneur.  Learn how to evaluate the financial transactions and events of a business, record these transactions in the appropriate accounts, balance the ledger at month’s end, and complete the accounting equation. This online course takes approximately 16 hours to complete.  Cost is $195. Use course code: NTE S76 003 to register.

                 Also available online in March is the “Foundations of Supply Chain Management” class from March 4-29.  Supply chain management is a systems approach to managing the entire flow of information, materials, and services from raw materials and suppliers through factories and warehouses to the end customer.  This course will help you create a supply chain strategy, learn how to align decisions with the strategy and how to collaborate in a customer focused process.  Upon completion of this course you will have a completed plan created for your own supply chain. This course takes approximately 16 hours to complete.  Cost is $245. Use course code: NTE S18 003 to register.
