Parent Session: College Readiness Workshop
Thursday, March 12 from 6-8 p.m. in Room A211 – across from the MCC Library.
Parents of high-school-aged students in our district are welcome to attend an evening about college readiness topics including:
- College research strategies
- College application tips
- MCC High Impact Scholarships and other scholarships
- Overview of FAFSA and financial aid options
We'll hold separate sessions in Spanish and English, simultaneously.
This evening's topics are based on the topics covered in the College Readiness Workshop Series for high school students. Parents attending this session are not required to have their child attend the previous College Readiness Sessions (although it is highly recommended students also register for the College Readiness Workshops). We'll leave time for you to ask MCC staff college-related questions. The topics of this evening are not specific to MCC, but to the college readiness process in general, although MCC examples may be used.
Parents of high school students grades 9-12 are welcome to attend this free workshop. Students are to welcome to join their parents, but the information will be tailored to a parent audience. Free but registration is required.
