McHenry County College Seeks Volunteer Literacy Tutors »

MCC is offering free training for those interested in becoming adult literacy tutors. These volunteers provide instruction in Adult Basic Education (which includes reading and math), or English as a Second Language (ESL).The training consists of four two-hour sessions that take place over the next six months.

The McHenry County College Shah Center is offering two courses on Microsoft Office Project: Basic and Advanced. This project management tool helps users understand and control project schedules and finances, communicate and present project information, and organize work and people to make sure projects are completed on schedule.

McHenry County College's Workforce, Community and Business Program has partnered with the Learning Resources Network (LERN) to offer online courses in Social Media and Digital Marketing. Interested students can pursue the Digital Marketing Certificate or Social Media for Business Certificate as a series or as individual courses.

The McHenry County College Athletics Department will host a Hall of Fame induction on Tuesday, February 4 at approximately 7 p.m., between the Women's and Men's Basketball games. The 2020 induction class includes four former student-athletes: Nick Badgley, Jenn Koeser, Zach Marszal, and Amanda Omar.

People in Need Forum Returns to McHenry County College Jan. 25 »

The 19th annual People in Need Forum will take place Saturday, January 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MCC. More than 100 exhibitors will be on site to showcase important community resources available to help those in need, and will address topics such as immigration, senior issues, caregiver resources, LGBTQ, substance abuse and addictions, and homelessness.

McHenry County College announces an exciting speaker series hosted by its new Center for Agrarian Learning called "Forefront: Ideas in Food and Farming". The series, which features some of the most innovative thinkers and doers in the food and farm economy, kicks off on Sunday, January 26 at 10 a.m. with "Lean Farming," an exploration of tips that lean farming expert Ben Hartman uses to earn a comfortable living farming on less than one acre of land.
