MCC Student Wins Top Award at Skyway Juried Art Exhibition >

Five MCC students have been selected to showcase their artwork in the 2018 Skyway Juried Art Exhibition and one MCC student won the Best of Show in the exhibit. The exhibit runs through April 27 at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines.

McHenry County College to Offer American Sign Language Workshops Offered for First Responders, Healthcare Professionals and Students >

MCC is offering American Sign Language Workshops (ASL) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 26 for First Responders and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on May 3 for healthcare professionals. Cost: $149.

MCC to Host Auditions for "August: Osage County" >

The Black Box Summer Theatre at MCC announces auditions for "August: Osage County" from 6-8 p.m. April 23 and 24. The play is won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award. Roles are available for seven women and six men. Actors will receive a stipend.

MCC Student Group to Host "Take Back the Night" event April 11 >

The Student Peace Action Network at MCC will host the 8th annual "Take Back the Night, a domestic violence and sexual assault awareness event, from 5-8:30 p.m. on April 11 in the Luecht Conference Center. The event will conclude with a march outside around campus. Free and open to all.

McHenry County Gardenfest to Feature Horticulturalist Mark Dwyer >

Join MCC at the 2018 Gardenfest on April 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring keynote speaker Mark Dwyer on "The Sensory Garden" plus 20 breakout sessions with industry experts in a variety of gardening topics. $45 general public, $25 for MCC horticulture students. Lunch is included.

MCC Announces 2018 Robotics Scrimmage Winners >

Crystal Lake Central teams 1 and 2 were named champions of the 2018 MCC's 2018 High School Robotics Scrimmage. The event included 152 students from seven high schools who showcased their science, technology, engineering and math skills.

MCC Student Artwork Selected for 2018 Skyway Juried Art Competition >

MCC art student Kathleen Berendt wins Blue Ribbon/Best of Show for her painting, "La Grange, Missouri" at the 2018 Skyway Art Competition at Oakton Community College that runs through April 27. Four other MCC students' work was selected for the juried exhibit: Cary Gaspar, Amanda Glaser, Conrad Lipinsky and Moraine Polit.
