MCC to Host Open House For Area Residents to Explore In-Demand Careers[Friday, April 19, 2019]
Harvard residents who are interested in switching careers or starting a new in-demand career with higher earning potential are invited an Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Harvard Community Unit School District 50 Administrative Building. The location is 401 N. Division Street in Harvard.
The Open House will feature free food, music and information on short-term classes and certificate programs that lead to high-paying jobs in such areas as automotive, manufacturing, transportation, welding, culinary and certified nursing assistant (CNA). Attendees will also have the opportunity to enroll in a free introductory College Experience class (MCC 101) in Harvard. The free class is available in the summer and fall semesters.
“We’re bringing the college to Harvard as a convenient alternative to commuting to the Crystal Lake campus,” said Laura Power, dean of Humanities and Social Sciences. “Residents can explore in-demand careers and the short-term educational path to get there.”
