Registration Underway for MCC's Fast Track Program; Training for In-Demand Careers[Wednesday, August 1, 2018]
Registration is underway for the Fast Track program at McHenry County College (MCC). Fast Track offers specific certificates and AAS degrees for in-demand careers with fully mapped-out programs and flexible course formats. Classes begin the week of Aug. 20.
The Fast Track program is ideal for students interested in improving their career outlook or exploring new career opportunities. Fast Track also helps improve an individual’s earning potential and makes graduates more marketable in such popular fields as business management, construction management, engineering technology, manufacturing management, architectural and engineering design technology, computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining and industrial maintenance.
According to Catherine Jones, associate vice president of Workforce Development, 75 percent of MCC’s Fast Track students received one or more promotions since starting the program.
“MCC Fast Track students are well prepared and gain industry-specific skills that they can immediately put into practice at job sites,” Jones said.
Classes are offered in eight-week formats, along with evenings and online, providing convenient scheduling for both adults and traditional students. Fast Track staff members assist students in planning, scheduling and registering for classes. Plus, one-on-one personalized advising and development of individual academic plans are provided.
MCC is located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake. For more information about MCC’s Fast Track program, visit www.mchenry.edu/fasttrack or call Lori Smyth at (815) 479-7831.
