Start@Shah Informative Breakfast Series Slated April 13[Monday, April 2, 2018]
The Workforce Community and Business Programs at the McHenry County College Shah Center continues their successful breakfast series, “Start@Shah” from 8-10 a.m. on Friday, April 13. The breakfast series features two hours of insightful and interactive training, and a hearty breakfast. The featured topic is “Taboo Topix,” an interactive live theater presentation that highlights workplace harassment and discrimination. Taboo Topix aims to provide an awareness of harassment, discrimination and bullying, along with effective communication techniques to manage difficult conversations. Solutions for addressing and responding to these situations, and framework to implement and sustain a safe and compliant work environment will also be included.
The live actors reenact vignettes of actual occurrences that have happened in the workplace, followed by a discussion facilitated by a professional trainer and practitioner. Taboo Topix is intended for those responsible for finding and/or conducting harassment prevention, professionals who need their PHR or SPHR certification credits and companies who want to educate their employees with an effective, measurable and memorable harassment prevention program.
This breakfast series takes place at McHenry County College Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane, located on the corner of Route 31 and Shamrock Lane in McHenry. The Workforce, Community and Business Programs courses are also available for on-site training at a company's facility and customizable for their needs.
