MCC Student Wins Top Award at Skyway Juried Art Exhibition[Thursday, March 29, 2018]
A painting titled "La Grange, Missouri" by Kathleen Berendt won Best of Show in the 2018 Skyway Juried Art Exhibition.
Five McHenry County College (MCC) students had their artwork selected by the jurors for inclusion in the 2018 Skyway Juried Art Exhibition and one MCC student won the Best of Show award. MCC is among eight community colleges participating in the exhibit, which runs through April 27 in the Koehnline Museum of Art at Oakton Community College, located at 1600 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines.
Kathleen Berendt of Fox River Grove, won Best of Show for her painting titled “La Grange, Missouri,” a water soluble oil on canvas. Other MCC student exhibitors are: Cary Gaspar, of Woodstock, for "Hide" Project," an agate, sterling silver, rubber and, pearl jewelry; Amanda Glaser of Spring Grove, for "Untitled," an archival inkjet print; Conrad Lobinsky of Capron, for "Hot Buttered," an archival inkjet print; and Morgaine Polit of Crystal Lake, for "Strike A Pose," an archival inkjet print.
