McHenry County College Choir, Student Recital to Close This Year's Concert Series

McHenry County College (MCC) is closing out this year’s Concert Series strong with two upcoming performances.

The MCC Concert Choir and String Orchestra will be performing Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in the College’s Luecht Auditorium, 8900 US Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake. The String Orchestra will kick off the concert with classics by composers such as Bach, Tchaikovsky, and Grieg. The Concert Choir will follow with selections such as “Seasons of Love,” “A Whole New World,” and “Can You Hear.”

On Sunday, May 7, the College will close the Concert Series with the MCC Student Recital at 7 p.m. in the Luecht Auditorium. Students who have been taking voice or instrument lessons this semester will showcase what they’ve learned in various solo and ensemble performances.

All concerts are free to attend and open to the public.

The MCC Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz, and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC concert choir, concert band, and jazz ensemble. The 2023-2024 MCC Concert Series schedule will be announced later this summer.
