McHenry County College to Induct Three Honorees into Hall of Fame February 9

The McHenry County College (MCC) Athletics Department will host a Hall of Fame induction on Thursday, February 9. The ceremony will take place between the Women’s Basketball game and Men’s Basketball game at approximately 7 p.m. The 2023 induction class includes three former student-athletes.

“We are proud to honor this year’s inductees, to share their accomplishments and contributions to MCC, and to thank them for being part of our Scot family,” said MCC’s director of Athletics Karen Wiley. “We have amazing individuals to shine the spotlight upon.”

Honorees include Brianne Prank, an excellent softball player for MCC from 2016-18. The Cary-Grove High School grad was the softball program’s first NJCAA All-American. Playing first base, she was named to the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) First Team in 2017 and 2018, and All-Region IV First Team in 2017 and 2018. In her sophomore season, she led her team and the region with an incredible .971 slugging percentage, including 45 RBIs and 7 homeruns. Her fielding was exceptional as well with 203 putouts and zero fielding errors in the season. The outstanding season stats earned her NJCAA All-American Third Team honors in Spring 2018. She received a softball scholarship and continued her education at Purdue Northwest University in Hammond, Indiana. Prank currently resides in Crystal Lake and is manager at Play It Again Sports.

Brett Stratinsky was an exceptional baseball player for MCC from 2015-17. As a freshman, the Stagg High School graduate earned ISCC All-Conference and All-Region IV honors. With Stratinsky at first base, the 2016 squad went 44-13 overall, winning the conference and Region IV Tournament. As a freshman, Stratinsky was named to the prestigious NCJAA World Series All-Tournament Team. During his sophomore season, he again earned All-Conference and All-Region IV honors as the team played to a phenomenal 50-12 record, wining the conference. He also earned Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference All-Academic honors as a freshman and sophomore. Stratinsky still holds the program’s record for career homeruns (27) and ties the program’s record for single season homeruns (16). He continued his education and playing career at Middle Tennessee State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business. He currently is a project manager with New Design at Lerch Bates, Inc. in the Chicagoland area.

Kayli Trausch was an outstanding volleyball player for MCC from 2014-16. The Cary-Grove High School grad was an NJCAA First Team All-American in 2016. The 2015 and 2016 teams finished their seasons as conference and region champions. Kayli earned ISCC All-Conference honors in 2015 and 2016 and was awarded ISCC Player of the Year for the 2016 season. She earned the 2016 Region IV Player of the Year honors, was named to the Region IV All-Tournament team, and ultimately garnered NJCAA First Team All-American status. She graduated MCC as an ISCC All-Academic honoree as well. Kayli is first in MCC Volleyball program all-time blocks in one season (157), third in kills per/set (3.90), and third in total kills (519). She was offered a scholarship opportunity at Marquette University. Kayli went on to continue her academic career at Auburn University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business.

The McHenry County College Athletics Hall of Fame was instituted in 2004. It honors teams, student-athletes, coaches, administrators, community members, and volunteers who have demonstrated a high degree of success, significant contributions, or meaningful service to MCC Athletic programs. Each inductee and their immediate family are invited to attend the induction ceremony February 9 to receive a Hall of Fame plaque. They will also be honored with a plaque on the Athletic Hall of Fame wall outside of the gym and recognized on the MCC Athletic Hall of Fame page on the athletic department’s website.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is open to the public.
