McHenry County College Awards Tenure Status to Faculty Member

Biology instructor Dr. Collin Jaeger was recently awarded tenure status by McHenry County College (MCC). Tenure is awarded to full-time faculty members who have completed a three-year probationary period and have met standards of instructional excellence in support of MCC’s mission and goals.

Instructors are evaluated in content expertise, pedagogical skill, continued professional growth and development, and commitment to students and the community. They also undergo extensive observations and receive feedback from peers and administrators.

“Dr. Jaeger is passionate about student success and he works tirelessly to engage students in the learning process,” said O’Neil Wright, Ph.D., Dean of MCC’s Math and Sciences Division. “In addition to his work in the classroom, Dr. Jaeger has published several scholarly articles and is actively involved with many community organizations. MCC is fortunate to have him as a member of our faculty.”

Awarding of tenure by the Board of Trustees signifies that both the faculty and the administration endorse this candidate as having the professional skills and personal qualities to contribute to student learning for many years to come.
