Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

This webpage is used to provide the MCC community with current information and resources regarding the College’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak. Please continue to check back for updates.

The health and safety of our MCC community remain our top priority. We continue to make adjustments to our operations schedule that align with state and county guidelines and prioritize our concern for the health and safety of our college community. That is why MCC continues to offer five unique learning options for our students this semester – whether someone needs to learn safely in-person, or wishes to learn fully remote.

COVID-19 Safety Reminders for MCC Students

Part of MCC’s process to lessen any widespread transmission of the COVID-19 virus has been to communicate with those affected very quickly. For this process to continue effectively, and to protect everyone’s privacy, we ask that you do not share your (or others’) health information with other individuals. If someone is a close contact with an individual who tests COVID-19 positive, we have MCC team members who will be solely responsible for communicating that information, responding quickly to the issue, and contacting those involved.

Out of an abundance of caution, we must all continue to do our part, adhering to the extensive safety protocols the College has in place. We ask everyone to be vigilant in continuing the following practices:

  • Report to MCC if you have been exposed to COVID-19, are awaiting COVID-19 test results, and/or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. Students, please complete the student COVID reporting form. If you need assistance, contact studenthealth@mchenry.edu.
  • Do not come to campus if you are sick, experiencing symptoms, and/or awaiting a COVID-19 test result.
  • Wear a face covering over nose and mouth at all times and maintain physical distancing of six feet or more.
  • Do not congregate in groups or gather without distancing before and after class.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water and/or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

If you have specific questions, please contact Student Affairs at mccstudentaffairs@mchenry.edu or (815) 479-7700. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue providing you with a safe and healthy place in which to learn.
