Tyler Stamer - Student-Athlete of the Month - May 2018
Congratulations to Tyler Stamer for earning the MCC Student-Athlete of the Month honor for May. He is a member of the 2017-18 MCC baseball team which is currently 42-12 and ranked #9 in the nation.
The returning sophomore outfielder is a graduate of Edwardsville High School, attaining a 3.8 cumulative GPA, including a 4.00 in the fall of 2017. He graduates from MCC this spring and has several Division II colleges recruiting, including McKendree University (IL), Rockhurst University (MO), Chowan University (NC), and Southern Wesleyan University (SC).
Tyler also was selected 2nd Team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference in 2017. He garnered 1st Team All-Conference 2018 and is on track to graduate as a NJCAA Academic All-American. He has a .373 Batting Average, 5 Home Runs and 39 Runs Batted In.
“Tyler is simply a good person, a teammate who looks for ways to help on the field and off. He is of high quality and integrity of character,” lauds Head Coach Jared Wacker.

Even of more importance and pride is the manner in which Tyler has represented himself, the team and department in the classroom and off the field. His maturity, class, and dedication to all aspects of a student-athlete has set an awesome example of our standards and beliefs,” adds Director of Athletics Karen Wiley.
