The Chicago Brass Band Players will open the McHenry County College Second Sunday Concert Series at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 in the Luecht Conference Center. The college is located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.
This specialized 10-member ensemble of Chicago Brass Band members will perform a variety of brass repertoire from a broad range of musical eras. The performance will feature sounds of the cornet, flugelhorn, tenor horn, baritone horn, trombone, euphonium, bass, and percussion.
The Second Sunday Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area, along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC chorus, concert band, jazz ensemble and chamber groups. Upcoming musicians include a Halloween concert on Oct. 28 at Cary-Grove High School, classical guitarist Brian Torosian on Nov. 11, the MCC Concert Band and Chorus on Nov. 18, MCC Jazz Concert on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m., Cor Corps Concert on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., MCC Student Recital on Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. and the Handel’s Messiah on Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Raue Center in Crystal Lake.
