Exhibits include Polonia stained glass, folk costumes, remarkably decorated eggs, paintings and sculptures. The museum shop sells a wide variety of Polish arts and crafts. A delicious, hearty lunch buffet (included) featuring traditional Polish specialties will be served at Red Apple, a restaurant where you hear Polish spoken by many of the patrons. Motown the Musical
Chicago, Oriental Theatre

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is the real story of the one-of-a-kind sound that hit the airwaves in 1959 and changed our culture forever. This exhilarating show charts Motown founder Berry Gordy’s incredible journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many more.

Featuring all the classics you love, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL tells the story behind the hits as Diana, Smokey, Berry and the whole Motown family fight against the odds to create the soundtrack that changed America. Motown shattered barriers, shaped our lives and made us all move to the same beat. Now, it finally comes to Chicago as MOTOWN THE MUSICAL launches its national tour. Lunch is on your own before the 2 p.m. matinee.

The Oaks of McHenry County:
Up Close and Personal

Be among the only humans ever to explore several of McHenry County’s ancient oak woodlands that are not open to the public. You will visit some of the area’s oldest living residents, including a 400 year-old white oak that Native Potawatomi Indians likely sat beneath. See gorgeous spring wildflowers in their natural setting and have the opportunity to speak with private landowners about the oak woodlands that they own and cherish. The tour will also include a visit to one of the largest remaining oak woodlands in the county – site of the brand new Community Research Forest, a public-private partnership that will become a center of study, training and educational opportunities about oak woodland ecology, health and care. Rain or shine. Hiking on unpaved trails over gently rolling terrain. Lunch included.
