A Fireside Christmas

Named one of the country’s finest attractions by the American Bus Association, The Fireside’s Christmas show has become a must see tradition for tens of thousands of people throughout the nation. Each holiday season, The Fireside produces a show that will re-kindle the true Christmas spirit in all of us. Through songs, stories, and dances – both traditional and original – The Fireside captures the very heart and essence of the holiday season. Each show is new and exciting, with beautiful new costumes and settings, glorious singing and breath-taking dancing, and new ways to tell the familiar stories of the season. What never changes is their faithfulness to the traditions and memories of this most joyous of seasons. A delicious brunch is included.

Holiday “Nuts” About Music

Join us for this exclusive invitation for a groups only tour to a Christmas concert at the magnificent Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills, Illinois. We’ll begin with a brunch, including wine, in the beautiful Carousel Pavilion, followed by a concert in the Sanfilippo residence. The concert will feature an Organist (TBA) on the Mighty Sanfilippo Wurlitzer Theater Organ. Come see the Estate decorated for the holidays, hear Christmas music on the antique music machines, and experience an unforgettable organ concert on the world’s largest theater organ. West Side Story, Drury Lane Theatre

Drury Lane completes its 30th anniversary season with one of the world’s greatest love stories. A modern retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story tells the tale of two, star crossed lovers caught between rival gangs. A revolutionary work that changed the course of the American musical, West Side Story features an electrifying Latin and jazz-infused score including “Somewhere,” “Tonight,” and “America.” Enjoy a delicious meal (included) before the 1:30 p.m. show.

Museum of Contemporary Art—Chicago, IL

The Museum of Contemporary Art near Water Tower Place in Chicago is one of the world’s largest contemporary venues. Teaching artist Diane Wlezien will guide you through this incredible museum’s collection, as well as a special exhibit on the work of renowned American sculptor Alexander Calder, the inventor of the mobile. A delightful box lunch (included) at Wolfgang Puck’s Café in the museum and time to visit the museum gift shop will be included in our day.

All Shook Up—Fireside Dinner Theatre, Ft. Atkinson, WI

Treat yourself (or someone you love) to a day out for lunch! McHenry County College's Trips and Tours and Van Galder Tour and Travel present the new Dine and Discover program. We're offering a monthly day trip to a unique restaurant, followed by an educational and entertaining activity. Join us on these restaurant outings and enjoy wonderful cuisine, experience interesting sites and make new friends. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy! Price includes your meal, activity and transportation from MCC on a deluxe motor coach.

Rosewood Restaurant—Delavan, WI

The Rosewood Restaurant is Southeastern Wisconsin’s newest live entertainment attraction. Farm fresh culinary experience paired with the high energy vocals of Mark & Gretch Productions. In Search of Lincoln

2-day tour to Springfield, IL

2015 is a momentous year in the history of Abraham Lincoln! It is the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s death and the 10-year anniversary of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. On the first day you’ll discover the Lincoln Library, which includes a special luncheon in the Lincoln Reception Room, followed by a brief history lesson on “What’s New in the Lincoln Collection.” After the luncheon, you’ll visit the Lincoln Museum and the exhibit entitled, “Lincoln, History to Hollywood.” Dinner is “on your own” and will be followed by a spectacular evening event, the “Lincoln Ghost Tour.” This is a 10-block walking tour through the streets of Springfield, which will uncover some of the lesser-known mysteries of Abraham Lincoln. The second day includes a visit to Lincoln’s home and his tomb before heading back to MCC with an approximate arrival time of 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity to experience the history surrounding one of Illinois’ native sons who helped shape the future of our nation. Please note: Dress appropriately for the weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking.

India—November, 2015

India has one of the most unique and diverse populations in the world, and this tour takes you to spectacular venues. We begin in Delhi, and will also visit Jaipur, the Royal City of Fatepur Sikri, and the Ranthambhore Wildlife Sanctuary. We will stroll the main street of old Delhi, plus visit the oldest and busiest market in the world. We will also visit the spice market where the colors, sights and sounds are utterly unique. The diverse architecture along our journey will not soon be forgotten, and we also visit the largest temple complex in the world. Stunning hilltop forts and glorious palaces illustrate the rich, royal past. Candyfloss-bright turbans blaze a trail through brilliant bargain-filled bazaars, and fluttering saris catch the eye. The Ranthambhore Sanctuary boasts many animal and bird species, with the most notable being the Tigers. Join us in February for this unique preview.

  • Students may also register in person Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Early registrations are accepted.
