Sam Shephard's "A Lie of the Mind"
Sam Shepard's "A Lie of the Mind." He described "Lie of the Mind" as 'a love ballad... a little legend about love.' This 'little legend' was the winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award as the best play of the year. Set against the backdrop of wild Montana and California, A Lie of the Mind paints a bleak and absurd portrait of two American families and their struggles with violence, fantasy and love.
