Team SERVE is a group of MCC faculty and staff members dedicated to serving the community. Once a month we meet to choose a community service project to promote and encourage others on campus to support. With each project we offer a variety of ways to support the cause. The options will range from a small thing you can incorporate into your normal daily routine to a larger commitment to get involved in during your personal time.
Recap of August Team SERVE ProjectDuring the month of August Team SERVE chose to support & promote volunteerism in our surrounding community. Administration, Students, Faculty & Staff came together to complete service projects at local nonprofit agencies, Family Health Partnership, Faith in Action & Fiat Missionaries. At each of the agencies the groups learned about the services the agency provides and completed a service project for them. The service projects include cleaning, painting, light house work, building shelves, etc.
When the projects were completed, the groups returned to MCC for lunch and reflection regarding their experiences. We hope individuals will share their new knowledge with others on campus and become advocates for the agencies visited. We also asked for donations of slightly used magazines and canned food items to be donated to Family Health Partnership. Hundreds of magazines and canned food items were donated along with a brand new breast pump and a sleeping bag.

“I just wanted to follow up with you and say thank you for sending the volunteers to us last Friday. What a great group they were! They did a great job and were a lot of fun to work with. We so appreciate what they did, it was things that we never would have had time to do ourselves but has already made a huge difference. Thank you again!!”
