Find the Right Volunteer Opportunity

  1. Search by date for volunteer opportunities listed on the volunteer calendar
  2. See volunteer work posted on the bulletin board across from the Service Learning and Volunteerism Office A250
  3. Search for volunteer opportunities - visit the United Way of Greater McHenry County Volunteer Center’s website to search for available opportunities in your area of interest ⇒
    1. Register as an individual volunteer.
    2. Search for volunteer activities.
    3. Submit I am interested in helping forms.
    4. The agency you are interested in helping will contact you within two weeks if volunteers are needed.
  4. Get involved on campus - there are student organizations on campus that are already doing volunteer work! Learn more about student organizations ⇒

Ensure Your Opportunity is Approved

All volunteer work must fall within the guidelines of the MCC Presidential Talent Scholarship program to count towards your requirements. If you are not sure, please contact Emily Smith or ANGEL

  1. Log into ANGEL
  2. Enter the MCC Presidential Talent Scholarship course
  3. Click on Forms
  4. Choose Volunteer Activity Approval Request Form
  5. Complete form and hit submit

Your submission will be reviewed and you will receive a message approving or denying the work.

Track Completed Volunteer Hours

You are responsible for submitting your hours after each activity using the Completed Volunteer Hours Submission Form on ANGEL.

  1. Log into ANGEL
  2. Enter the MCC Presidential Talent Scholarship course
  3. Click on Forms
  4. Choose Report Completed Volunteer Hours
  5. Complete the form and hit submit
