THIS IS THE COMMUNITY'S COLLEGE

This is a critical time for community colleges to support our nation’s educational needs. Emerging as a sound investment at a time when four-year institution costs continue to rise, community colleges’ role in higher education is transitioning from just another option to the best value for a quality education. The ability to make higher education accessible to all citizens and preparing our future workforce with the right skills makes community college a wise choice for higher education today. This is why we need widespread community support for an effective solution to one of MCC’s most pressing educational needs.

OUR LABS ARE OUR FRONT DOOR

Almost every student at MCC passes through our science programs as they work toward their educational goals. The community’s future engineers, teachers, social workers, accountants, and chefs all must take at least one science lab class when starting their studies. All of these students deserve a credible place in which to learn—one that matches the quality of our faculty.

OUR VISION–LIEBMAN SCIENCE CENTER

The new Liebman Center at MCC will create a space that prepares all students for a successful future and lead the way for careers in STEM fields. The center will include learning and dedicated laboratory environments for the following areas:

  • Biology
  • Anatomy and Physiology (includes cadaver lab space)
  • Chemistry
  • Physics and Engineering
  • Earth Science and Meteorology (includes planetarium)

NOTE: Includes labs, lecture, and preparation space for each above program area.

“When our existing labs were built, no one imagined that college students would amplify DNA in a freshman biology lab 40 years later.”
